Ms. Della Almind
From O’Fallon, IL, and now a student at Webster University working on her BA in Spanish Education and Masters in TESOL. Having studied the Spanish language for seven years, and after receiving extensive Spanish education by instructors from a variety of countries (including Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, and Spain), she is eager to share her knowledge of the Spanish language and Hispanic culture with her community. She recently spent 3 months in Oviedo, Spain learning about Spanish culture and is excited to integrate what she’s learned into her lessons!
Ms. Christina Sanchez
Ms. Cristina was born and raised in Ecuador. She moved to the United States in 2015 to study English and Literature. Cristina loves languages and has a Bachelor's degree in English from her country. In her spare time, she likes to study German and Italian. In Ecuador, Cristina taught English to children in schools and also tutored Spanish to foreign visitors. Currently, she is working towards getting her teaching certification so that she can help others enjoy languages too. She loves dancing, traveling, and meeting new people. Ms. Cristina is excited to share her native language and culture with all her students.
Ms. Yeni Andrea Mora
Ms. Yeni Andrea Moya was born and raised in Colombia, South America, but she moved to The
United States almost 10 years ago. Since she can remember Ms. Yeni has always wanted to be a teacher and have
a positive impact on students’ lives. She is also studying to be an Elementary teacher. She is so happy to have
the opportunity to help kids learn a new language and a different culture.
Ms. Lily Jones
Ms. Lily is currently a Graduate student at Saint Louis University pursuing a Masters Degree in Spanish. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Spanish from the University of Washington - Seattle. Ms. Lily's passion for Spanish-speaking language and culture has been strengthened and propelled by studying abroad in Granada, Spain, teaching English Language & American Culture in Cádiz, Spain, and studying in Madrid, Spain. She is fired up by teaching students of all ages. When asked what her favorite Spanish word is, she responds with "posibilidad" (possibility). Ms. Lily advocates that the knowledge of a second language can provide possibility and opportunity in all areas of life, whether it be personal, professional or academic. Through teaching Spanish-speaking language and culture, Ms. Lily hopes to inspire in others the possibility, opportunity, and adventure that lay in learning a second language.
Ms. Fabiana Brauks
Ms. Fabiana Brauks is originally from São Paulo, Brazil! She has been living in St.
Louis, MO since 2002. She has a B.S. Degree in Advertising from Mackenzie University, Sao Paulo, Brazil. In 2007 she started to take education classes and received her Spanish Teaching Certificate (K-12) from University of Missouri, St. Louis. She has been working as a Spanish teacher since 2007 and currently works as a Spanish teacher in a Catholic School teaching K-8 grades. She also worked as a teacher in an early childhood center for two years, a Portuguese teacher, and teaching English as a Second Language in Brazil to children in various different language centers. She is looking forward to bringing her passion for the Spanish language to children and teaching them about the Spanish culture!
Ms. Emily Bowman
One of the very first Sarah's Spanish School teachers, Ms. Emily is a St.Louis native, but had the opportunity to live abroad in Mexico City during middle school. She continued her language and culture studies upon returning home to St.Louis, where she has now lived for 10 years. She graduated from University of Missouri-St.Louis in December of 2017 with a double major in Spanish and Education, as well as a TESOL certification. During the summer before her senior year in college, Emily had the opportunity to study abroad in Barcelona, Spain. Emily has a passion for language and culture and loves building student confidence and motivation with the Spanish language. Our veteran instructor truly believes that any student, of any age, can learn Spanish and should have the opportunity to develop this skill.
Ms. Yaitza Diaz
Yaitza was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, where she studied all the way through college. She has a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education, and certificates in Spanish and English. She’s been teaching for 11 years this year, and seven of those years were in Puerto Rico! Yaitza moved to the U.S. in 2014, and she’s currently teaching Spanish at Chesterfield Day School. She is very excited to be able to teach more students how to speak Spanish, her native language, and all of the great things that her culture has to offer!
Ms. Jennifer Wilkinson
Ms. Jennifer is from Lima-Peru. She starting working as a Child Nutritionist two years ago, and this is when she found her passion for helping and connecting with children. She loves sharing her culture with other people!
