#2: Play the Green Game! Each family member has to make a list of all things they can think of that are GREEN (verde). Set the timer for 5 minutes. Then, you get 1 point for each item you wrote that NO ONE else has on their list!
#3: Eat Lucky Charms cereal for breakfast! It’s not healthy… at all. But there’s something magical about them, especially on St. Patty’s day! You can even talk about the different shapes of marshmallows (malvaviscos in Spanish) and which are your favorite.
#4: If you are into eating more healthy, instead of cereal for breakfast, make GREEN smoothies! This is a staple in my house, mostly because my husband forces me to drink them lol because they are SO dang healthy! They’ll supercharge your day! Read the nutrition labels and talk to your kids about why these are so good for us, and then make them together. And don’t worry – they actually taste pretty good. Here’s the recipe we use.
1 cup of greek yogurt
½ of a peeled lemon (or a shot of lemon juice)
1 ripe banana
1 cup of milk or juice
1-2 large handfuls of spinach, packed
Top with about 1 cup of frozen strawberries/fruit
Blend well, 1-2 minutes.
#5: Another healthy green recipe that is a staple in my house and one of my obsessions is guacamole! It’s green, so make Guac to celebrate St. Patty’s Day! Here’s a video of me making homemade guac – you can get all the ingredients and make it along with me!
3-5 soft and ripe avocados (Make sure avocados are ripe, soft, and ready to be used!)
Lime or lime juice
Salt
1 teaspoon minced garlic or garlic cloves pre-chopped
Tortillas or tortilla chips
Optional ingredients: Onions pre-chopped, Tomatoes pre-sliced, Leaves from 10 sprigs cilantro, Ground cayenne pepper
** For a more “Kid friendly” guacamole, you can just do the top ingredients with no onions, tomatoes, cilantro or cayenne pepper.
#6: Throw on some classic Irish tunes and do a little jig 😉 Here’s a 3 hour compilation of irish music for your enjoyment
#7: Here is a little Irish dancing lesson and here are some adorable Irish dancing world champions!
#8: Play this fun and easy matching game! Everyone wins because you get to each chocolate afterwards!
#9: Have an Irish movie night! Here is a list of the top 20 Irish movies!
#10: Here’s a fun and simple St. Patrick’s Day colors wordsearch I made for your kiddo, just for fun! Get the worksheet here
#11: If you’re feeling extra fancy or want some more, here is a blog post from my favorite blogger with TONS of resources about St. Patty’s day with a Spanish-for-kids twist!!!
#12: And lastly, wear something green! And pinch anyone who isn’t 😉

Hopefully you’ll find something fun in this little lista to do with your kiddos to celebrate the holiday this year.
As for me and my husband, Timmy, we will be doing the green smoothies, guac, and going out for some corned beef and cabbage!
Fun fact – Did you know Timmy is actually irish, has an orange beard, and his dad is a true red-head! We love it!
Wishing you a pot of gold and all the joy your heart can hold!
Have a fun St. Patty’s Day!
