Our Curriculum

Bring world-class Spanish to every classroom.

Our Spanish curriculum is designed for district adoption and individual school purchases — fully developed, deeply pedagogical, and customizable to your community’s instructional priorities and student needs. Built around how children actually learn language, our program supports consistent implementation across campuses and classrooms.

Grades K–5

Elementary learners build Spanish through movement, visuals, manipulatives, music, stories, and meaningful interaction—developing comprehension, confidence, and an increasingly strong foundation for communication.

Grades 6–8

Middle school learners deepen that foundation through literacy development, expanded language structures, real-world communication, and increasingly independent student output.
Each grade band is intentionally designed—not adapted—creating a cohesive K–8 progression that meets students where they are and moves them forward.

Staffing

Two ways to bring the curriculum to your students

One curriculum. Two delivery options. Choose the model that fits your staffing.
You have a Spanish teacher

We provide the curriculum

Your in-person Spanish teacher gets everything needed to teach the program successfully: complete curriculum, lesson plans, teacher resources, student materials, digital and physical resources, assessments, training, professional development, and ongoing support.
Your teacher teaches it. We give them the curriculum, tools, training, and support to do it well.
You don’t have a Spanish teacher

We provide the curriculum + instruction

You receive the same complete curriculum, resources, student materials, training, and support—plus instruction from our Spanish teaching team.

We build the delivery model around your schedule and staffing needs, with live virtual, hybrid, or flexible asynchronous options available.

No in-person Spanish teacher required.

Whether your district has an in-person Spanish teacher or needs us to provide instruction, students receive the same cohesive scope and sequence, curriculum, and learning materials. The difference is simply who delivers the instruction.

Our approach

Built around how students actually acquire language

Rather than centering instruction on vocabulary memorization and isolated grammar practice, students get abundant Spanish they can understand, then use what they know to communicate.

Comprehensible input

Students hear and see Spanish they can understand through stories, visuals, conversation, movement, and teacher interaction, from the first week.

Acquisition-driven instruction

Language grows through meaningful exposure and communication. Grammar and vocabulary support that work; they don’t drive the lesson.

Developmentally appropriate instruction

Learning experiences are intentionally designed for each stage—from movement, stories, music, and interaction in elementary to deeper literacy and communication in middle school.

Culture throughout

People, places, traditions, and perspectives of the Spanish-speaking world are woven into the lessons, not saved for a unit at the end of the year.

The K–8 pathway

One sequence, nine years

A clear progression from early exposure through a Spanish 1 equivalent, so students aren’t starting over between elementary and middle school.

K–2

Foundation

Stories, gestures, visuals, songs, and routine. Strong listening first; short responses when students are ready.

3–5

Expansion

Longer stories, conversation, interpretive listening and reading, with culture integrated throughout.

6

Exploratory

A broad, engaging introduction to middle school Spanish that strengthens comprehension, builds high-frequency language, and gives students meaningful experience across listening, reading, speaking, and culture.

7

Spanish 1A

First half of a high-school-level Spanish 1 sequence, same acquisition approach.

8

Spanish 1B

Completes Spanish 1. Students leave middle school ready for high school Spanish with proficiency, not vocabulary lists.

Included with every adoption

Everything your teachers need to teach with confidence

A complete curriculum ecosystem, resources, student materials, digital tools, tangibles, assessments, training, and ongoing support for every grade level you adopt.

Comprehensive lesson plans

Engaging, developmentally appropriate, proficiency-focused lessons designed specifically for each grade level. Lessons are interactive, cohesive, and built to make Spanish meaningful and enjoyable to teach and learn.

Scope, sequence & pacing

A clear grade-by-grade progression with intentionally sequenced language, skills, themes, and proficiency goals. Pacing guidance helps teachers stay aligned while allowing flexibility for different schedules and instructional models.

Teacher & student materials

All of the instructional resources needed to bring each lesson to life, including visual supports, student activities, stories, readings, interactive resources, manipulatives, reference materials, and more.

Assessment & progress monitoring

Formative and summative assessments designed to measure comprehension, communication, and proficiency growth, with rubrics, answer keys, and teacher guidance included.

Instructional resources for teachers

Ready-to-use resources that support strong classroom delivery, including presentation materials, visuals, teaching supports, extension activities, differentiation tools, and everything teachers need to confidently facilitate each lesson.

Digital student practice

Assignable digital activities that extend learning beyond instructional time through listening, reading, comprehension, and language practice. Teachers can assign, monitor, and assess student work as an extension of classroom instruction—not a replacement for it.

Teacher portal

One organized home for curriculum materials, pacing resources, assessments, digital tools, teacher guidance, and implementation resources.

Implementation, PD & ongoing support

Launch training and implementation support help teachers begin confidently, followed by ongoing professional development, curriculum support, and access to our team throughout the adoption.

Bonus & supplemental resources

Additional resources for cultural celebrations, seasonal lessons, early finishers, enrichment, special events, and other moments that arise throughout the school year.

Family communication resources

Ready-to-use family materials that help communicate what students are learning, why it matters, and how Spanish connects to the broader school experience.

Pricing

Customized based on the grade levels, number of schools or students, implementation model, and length of adoption. A short conversation allows us to build an accurate proposal around your district’s needs.

Standards Alignment

Built to survive a materials review

Standards-aligned scope, sequence & pacing

Our curriculum is intentionally aligned to national world language standards, with clear grade-level scope and sequence, pacing guidance, proficiency goals, and documented alignment to support curriculum review and implementation.

Alignment documentation can also be customized to your state or district standards as part of the adoption process.

IB PYP & MYP alignment

For IB schools, our curriculum supports language learning within the PYP and MYP frameworks, with resources to help schools connect Spanish instruction to their existing Programme of Inquiry (POI), units of inquiry, concepts, and approaches to learning.

IB-specific curriculum mapping and implementation resources are available for coordinators and language teams.

“Our district offers Spanish in all 25 elementary schools and Sarah’s Spanish School makes this possible. The curriculum is the best we have ever had.”

Get Started

Let’s build the right fit together

Every school and district has different goals, schedules, staffing, and students. We’ll learn about your current language program, staffing, schedule, grade levels, and goals.

From there, we’ll walk you through the curriculum, share samples and portal access, and work with your team to determine the grade levels, delivery model, and implementation plan that make the most sense.

Questions from curriculum offices

Before you ask

Do we need to have a Spanish teacher to use the program?

No. If you already have an in-person Spanish teacher, we provide the complete curriculum, student and teacher materials, digital resources, assessments, training, professional development, and ongoing support. If you do not have a Spanish teacher, we can also provide the instruction through a customized live, hybrid, or flexible asynchronous model.

Is this a full K–8 curriculum or just a collection of lessons and activities?

It is a complete, vertically aligned K–8 curriculum with intentional scope and sequence, pacing, proficiency goals, assessments, student materials, digital practice, and teacher resources. Each grade level is designed to build on the one before it so students continue progressing rather than starting over each year.

What instructional approach does the curriculum use?

The curriculum is grounded in comprehensible input, meaningful communication, and acquisition-driven instruction. Students build language through connected experiences with Spanish across interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational communication rather than through disconnected activities, isolated grammar practice, or vocabulary memorization alone.

What do teachers actually receive?

Teachers receive everything needed to implement the curriculum: complete lesson plans, instructional resources, student materials, assessments, digital practice, pacing and scope-and-sequence guidance, cultural and seasonal resources, family communication materials, implementation training, ongoing professional development, and continued support from our team.

Can the curriculum work with our schedule, standards, and existing program?

Yes. The curriculum is designed to work across a range of elementary and middle school schedules and can be aligned to state, district, and program requirements. We work collaboratively with schools and districts to determine the grade levels, pacing, delivery model, and implementation plan that best fit their existing structure.

How does the curriculum support IB schools?

For IB schools, the curriculum can support language learning within the PYP and MYP frameworks. We provide additional mapping and implementation resources, including support for connecting PYP Spanish instruction to the school’s Programme of Inquiry and helping MYP teams align instruction with conceptual learning, communication, and language-acquisition goals.
