Got big plans for New Years this year? No? Me neither 😛
Well, the plans that I do have I’m actually really looking forward to! Dinner, game night, and getting snowed in with my nephews! Woo hoo!!!
You know how at midnight in the US at midnight we jump for joy, hug and kiss our loved ones and shout HAPPY NEW YEAR?!?!
In Spain, they do it very differently.
But I LOVE the tradition!!!
Instead of popping confetti at midnight to celebrate, they “pop” 12 grapes to celebrate (ok – bad pun, they eat them lol)
Each grape symbolizes one month ahead in the new year
And good luck for the year to come!
You can read more about it here
Since you’re probably doing something similar as me (hanging out at home) to ring in the new year
I thought this activity could be something fun and educational to do together with your kiddos that night!
It’s a great opportunity to teach them a bit about Spanish culture …
and at the same time learn new words in Spanish AND make some goals for the new year!
Win-win-win, right!?

That being said, I hope 2021 brings you everything your heart desires.
May it be the best year ever for you and your family.
And thank you for reading my emails this year! Many more good things to come in 2021.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!! ¡Feliz año nuevo!
Adiós, 2020!
Always rooting for you,
